Areas We Cover from Toronto

Toronto’s Employment Areas hold about 90% of the city’s manufacturing and warehousing jobs, according to the City of Toronto, and we serve all of them, from Rexdale-Airport and South Etobicoke in the west to Tapscott in Scarborough. Across the GTA we cover Mississauga and Brampton in Peel; Vaughan and Concord, Markham and Richmond Hill in York Region; Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa in Durham; and Oakville, Burlington and Milton in Halton, with Hamilton just beyond. For moves anywhere else in the province, see our machinery movers across Ontario.

Moving a large machine across the city takes planning. A City of Toronto single-trip permit is needed once the truck and load reach 4.15 m high, 2.59 m wide, 21.33 m long or 50 tonnes, and it normally takes 7 to 10 business days. Oversize loads may not use the Don Valley Parkway, Black Creek Drive, the Allen Expressway, the elevated Lake Shore Boulevard West or the Gardiner east of the Humber River, and the 400-series highways need an MTO permit. We plan the route and arrange the permits and escorts.

Toronto Rigging and Heavy Equipment Moving: FAQ

Are you a rigging company or a machinery moving company?

Both. Rigging-Busters Toronto rigs, moves and installs industrial equipment, so one crew can lift a machine inside your plant, truck it across the GTA and set it on the new floor. For rigging on its own, see industrial rigging services in Toronto. For a full move, see our machinery movers in Toronto.

Which of your Toronto services fits my job?

A single machine or a production line is a machinery move. Lifting, skidding or repositioning inside one building is rigging. Moving a whole facility is a plant or equipment relocation, and clearing a closing plant or an auction lot is an equipment removal. Generators, UPS units and switchgear fall under data centre equipment rigging. If your job mixes these, send the details and we will quote it as one job.

Which parts of Toronto and the GTA do you serve?

All of Toronto, including the Rexdale-Airport, South Etobicoke and Tapscott employment areas, plus the rest of the GTA: Mississauga and Brampton in Peel, Vaughan, Concord, Markham and Richmond Hill in York Region, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa in Durham, and Oakville, Burlington and Milton in Halton. We also move machinery between the GTA and Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo and Barrie.

How are moving and rigging jobs priced in Toronto?

Each job is quoted on its own. Rigging inside a plant is priced on the crew, equipment and time on site. A machinery move adds transport and permits, and a City of Toronto oversize load permit normally takes 7 to 10 business days. A plant relocation is quoted after a walkthrough or a detailed equipment list. For a rough range, try our Heavy Lifting and Moving Calculator.

Can you lift or reposition a machine inside our plant without moving it out?

Yes. That is rigging-only work, typical when a plant changes its layout or makes room for new equipment. Our riggers lift, skid and set the machine in its new spot with skates, hydraulic gantries or jack-and-roll, then level it, with no trucking involved. See industrial rigging services in Toronto for how we plan the lift.

Do you rig generators, UPS units and switchgear for data centres?

Yes. We rig, move and set the heavy power and cooling equipment in Toronto data centres and server rooms: generators, UPS units, switchgear, transformers and cooling units, including moves through tight corridors, ramps and freight elevators. Your licensed electricians disconnect and reconnect power. See data centre equipment rigging in Toronto.

Do you move heavy lab and pharma equipment?

Yes, the heavy side of lab, pharma and hospital projects: autoclaves, environmental chambers, process skids and utility plant such as chillers, rigged out, moved and set in place across Toronto and the GTA. Your team or the OEM prepares each instrument for the move. See heavy lab and medical equipment movers in Toronto.

Can I hire a crane or forklift with an operator from you?

No. We do not rent cranes, forklifts or operators, and we do not supply rigging gear. We quote complete jobs: most machines move on skates, hydraulic gantries or jack-and-roll, and when a lift needs a crane, a licensed crane partner does it as part of our plan, with the crane time included in your quote.
