Rigging Busters in Montreal, QC, Canada

Rigging-Busters Montreal is a machinery moving and industrial rigging company working in plants, machine shops, labs and electrical rooms across Greater Montreal. We lift each machine off the floor, take it out of the building, haul it and set it on its marks at the new site.

A job can be a single press bought at an auction, a transformer swap in an electrical room or a whole production line going to a new building.

  • Industrial moves only: machinery, production lines, lab equipment and electrical equipment. No household or office moves.
  • What we do in Quebec: moving, rigging, handling, transport and placing the machine. Installation, anchoring, levelling, alignment and connections are done by licensed contractors (RBQ, CMEQ, CMMTQ) and CCQ-qualified workers where the law requires it.
  • Minimum project: 3,500 CAD. Most industrial moves cost more.
  • Free estimates: we usually reply within 2–4 business hours.
  • Areas served: the island of Montreal, Laval, Longueuil and the South Shore, and the North Shore.

How to Get a Quote

A complete request gets you a firm price sooner. Send these details with it:

  1. The equipment: make, model, weight and size of each machine, or your equipment list
  2. Photos: the machines, their nameplates and the way out of the building
  3. Both sites: the addresses, with docks or doors, clear height and floor at each end
  4. Your dates: a shutdown window, an auction removal deadline or a move-in day
  5. Your trades: who disconnects, reconnects and installs the equipment on your side

Want a figure first? The Heavy Lifting & Moving Calculator gives a rough range, and our pricing page explains how quotes are built. Our Montreal sales office is at 605 Av. Atwater, Montréal, QC H3J 2T8.

Rigging-Busters Montreal: FAQ

Are you a machinery mover or a rigging company?

Both. Our crews rig a machine off the floor, move it through the building, load it, haul it and set it at the new site. You can book the whole move or a single step, such as a lift inside your plant.

What is the smallest job you take in Montreal?

The minimum project is 3,500 CAD, and most industrial moves cost more. Even one machine needs rigging gear, a crew and often a heavy forklift. Estimates are free.

How fast do you reply to a quote request?

We usually reply within 2–4 business hours. Include the make, model and weight of each machine, photos, both addresses and your dates. A full line or plant move may need a site visit before the final price.

Which areas around Montreal do you cover?

The island of Montreal, Laval, Longueuil and the South Shore, and the North Shore, including Mirabel, Blainville, Saint-Jérôme and Terrebonne. For Saint-Hyacinthe, Drummondville or Granby, describe your project in the quote request.

Do you install, anchor and level machines in Quebec?

We move, rig, handle, transport and place the machine on its marks. Final installation (anchoring, levelling, alignment, connections) is done by contractors holding the required licences (RBQ, CMEQ, CMMTQ) and by CCQ-qualified workers where the law requires it.

Does an oversize machine need a permit in Quebec?

Yes, when it exceeds the legal size or weight: the MTMD issues a special permit. In Montreal, a borough permit is also needed over 2.6 m wide or 4.15 m high. The same goes for loads over 50 t that need a class 6 or 7 permit. Permits and escorts are planned before the move date.

Can you take a machine out of an auction or a closing plant?

Yes. Auction buyers often get about 5 days to clear a lot. Tell us the lot number, where it sits, the removal deadline and where it goes, and we plan the lift, loading and haul around that date.

Can I rent a forklift or crane from you, or book an office move?

No. We don’t rent equipment on its own, and we don’t move homes or offices. We transport forklifts, and when a lift needs a crane, a partner crane can be included in the rigging plan.
