- One crew: rigging, transport, set-in-place, levelling and millwright installation.
- Fast quotes: replies within 2–4 business hours.
- Minimum job: 3,500 CAD. Most industrial jobs cost more, and your written quote shows the full price.

Rigging Service Professionals

What separates us from other rigging contractors in Waterloo Region? Our rigging service professionals look at every lift before the crew arrives (the load, its lifting points, the floor and the way out) and stay on the job until the machine is level on its new footprint.
They handle valuable machinery and rigging equipment with care: slings and hardware rated for the load, a method that suits the space, and no shortcuts on a busy plant floor. Kitchener-Waterloo plants call us for in-plant machine moves, line changes and full plant relocations.
Specialized Machinery Moving & Rigging Services

Planning a machinery installation or relocation in Kitchener, ON? Our machine moving & rigging services cover the whole job: rigging the machine, moving it across the plant or onto a trailer, and setting it in place at the new position, ready for your electricians.
We pick the method for each load: machinery skates on a good floor, a hydraulic gantry where there is no overhead crane, jack-and-roll for the heaviest pieces, and a lift by a licensed crane partner only when that is the safer route.

Prioritizing Safety in Every Rigging Job

Your safety comes first, and so does the safety of your building and your schedule. Every rigging job follows the same rules:
- Plan before lifting: weight, centre of gravity and lifting points confirmed, and the floor checked along the route.
- Rated rigging gear: slings, shackles and hardware rated for the load.
- Locked out: your maintenance staff or your licensed electricians disconnect power, compressed air and water first.
- Overhead lines: equipment stays at least 3 metres (10 feet) from energized lines of 750 to 150,000 volts, as Ontario’s construction regulation (O. Reg. 213/91) requires.
- Clear zone: nobody stands under a raised load.
On site, we also work to your plant’s own safety rules and permits.

Expert Rigging Project Planning
Planning a rigging project at a Kitchener, Waterloo or Cambridge plant? Our rigging experts plan it with you: photos and drawings first, a site visit when access is tight, then the method, crew and schedule. If the load has to travel, the plan includes the route and the Region of Waterloo permit.
Industrial Rigging Professionals for Waterloo Region Plants
Our crew of industrial rigging professionals combines riggers, drivers and millwrights, so the same people rig, move, set in place and level your machinery. One contact, one schedule and one quote.
How We Rig and Lift Machinery in Kitchener
A rigging job in Kitchener-Waterloo runs in seven steps:
- Tell us what to move: machine type, weight, size, photos, and where it starts and ends.
- We check access: doors, ceiling height, floor loading, overhead cranes or pipes, and the lifting points, with a visit when needed.
- We plan the lift: method, rigging gear, crew and sequence around the centre of gravity, plus transport permits if the load leaves the site.
- Your team locks out: maintenance staff or licensed electricians disconnect power, air and water.
- We rig and lift: rated slings and hardware, then skates, a gantry, jack-and-roll or a partner’s crane.
- We move it: across the floor, to another building or onto a trailer.
- We set it down: on the new footprint, levelled and ready to reconnect.
Heavy Industrial Rigging Equipment We Use

For heavy industrial rigging in Kitchener, we bring specialized rigging equipment sized to the job:
- Machinery skates for rolling machines across finished floors
- Hydraulic gantries for lifts where the building has no overhead crane
- Jack-and-roll systems for raising the heaviest loads in controlled stages
- Heavy-capacity lift trucks for loading, unloading and placing machines
- Rated slings, shackles and rigging hardware chosen for each load
- Trailers sized to each load, from short hops between Kitchener and Cambridge plants to longer hauls
- Crane lifts by licensed crane partners when a lift calls for one
Rigging Only or a Full Move
Many Kitchener jobs never leave the building. Need equipment riggers for an in-plant move, or one crew for the whole relocation?
- Rigging only: our riggers work inside your plant with no trucking, for example to take a new machine off the dealer’s truck and onto its pad, re-lay out a line, or shift a machine to another bay.
- Full move: we rig the machine out, haul it to the new address in Waterloo Region or beyond, set it in place, level it and handle millwright installation.
Both are quoted per job. Moving a machine to another city? Our machinery movers in Kitchener-Waterloo page covers relocations in more detail.
Machinery Transport and Permits in Waterloo Region
When the machine travels on public roads, we load it on a trailer suited to its weight and size and handle the permits. Oversize loads on Region of Waterloo roads need a Region of Waterloo oversize load permit: the minimum processing time is 10 business days, a route survey comes first, and escorts are arranged when required. Loads over 119,999 kg count as superloads and need an engineer’s route report and at least 20 business days. Highway 401 and the Conestoga Parkway are provincial highways, so they need an MTO oversize/overweight permit, requested at least 5 business days ahead.
Set-in-Place, Levelling and Millwright Installation
At the new location, the machine goes onto its footprint and our millwrights level and align it, ready for your electricians and the OEM’s start-up technician. Lines that travel in sections are put back together in production order.
Machinery Rigging in Kitchener: What We Rig
Waterloo Region plants run a lot of heavy, precise equipment. Our machinery riggers handle:
- CNC machines, machining centres and grinders
- Stamping presses and press brakes from auto-parts and metal-forming shops, plus printing presses
- Robotic cells, automation equipment and assembly-line sections
- Injection moulding machines and extruders from plastics and packaging plants
- Transformers, switchgear and generators
- Food and beverage processing and packaging lines
- Heavy lab and research equipment
Industries We Serve in Waterloo Region
We rig for the auto supply chain around the Cambridge and Woodstock assembly plants, automation and robotics builders, plastics and packaging plants, food and beverage processors, metal fabricators and energy-equipment makers, and for dealers delivering new machines to Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge.
Millwright Installation and Levelling in Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge
When the machine has to run, not just arrive, our millwrights take over where the rigging ends. We provide millwright services and machinery installation for plants in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge: the crew rigs the machine in, sets it in place, then levels, aligns and anchors it to the OEM’s drawings. Equipment rigging and installation stay with one crew, so nothing is lost in a handover to a separate millwright company.
What Our Millwrights Install
- Conveyor installation, section by section, levelled and joined in production order
- Stamping presses and press brakes, set on their foundations and levelled across the bed
- CNC machining centres and other machine tools, re-levelled as they settle
- Injection presses with their auxiliaries, and robot cells set and levelled for your integrator
Remove and Reinstall During a Shutdown
For a re-layout, or a move between plants in the region, we match-mark each machine, remove it and reinstall it in production order inside your shutdown window. Retools here run on fixed windows, such as the changeover at Toyota’s Cambridge plant, which is preparing to build the hybrid Lexus NX from December 2026, so we plan the install sequence before the first machine moves.
Who Levels and Anchors the Machine After the Move
Our millwrights do. Each machine is levelled with machinist levels and shims, aligned to the equipment it feeds, and anchored with bolts and base plates to the OEM’s foundation drawing; grout and new pads are coordinated with your concrete contractor. Your licensed electricians reconnect power and the OEM technician commissions the machine. Where the OEM specifies laser alignment, we plan it in and tell you who performs it.
Looking for millwright jobs or an apprenticeship? This page is for plants that need machines installed, and we don’t hire through it. For installation work elsewhere in Ontario, see machinery installation in Hamilton and across Ontario or millwright services in Toronto and the GTA.

- The method: skates, gantry or jack-and-roll, or a crane (crane time is included in your quote)
- The scope: rigging only, or transport with Region of Waterloo and MTO permits
- Extra work: disassembly, reassembly, levelling and millwright installation
- Timing: shutdowns, nights and weekends
Get a rough range from the Heavy Lifting and Moving Calculator, then ask for one quote that covers rigging, transport and set-in-place.

Industrial Rigging in Kitchener: FAQ
Industrial rigging means lifting, moving and placing heavy machinery safely. A rigger works out where and how to attach slings and hardware so the load stays balanced, then raises and moves it with skates, a hydraulic gantry, jack-and-roll or a crane. In Kitchener-Waterloo it covers everything from setting a new CNC machine to moving a full assembly line between plants.
A rigging contractor takes responsibility for the lift: checking the machine, the building and the route, choosing the rigging method, and supplying the crew and gear. Our Kitchener rigging contractors also handle the steps around it, such as loading, transport with Region of Waterloo and MTO permits, set-in-place and millwright levelling, so one team owns the whole job.
Yes. A lot of our Kitchener work stays inside one building: setting a new machine delivered by a dealer, shifting equipment to another bay, or re-laying out a line during a shutdown. No truck and no road permit are needed. If the machine has to go to another address, we add transport and set-in-place and quote both together.
There is no flat rate, because every lift is different. The price depends on the machine’s weight and size, access at both ends, the rigging method, whether a crane partner is needed (crane time is included in your quote), transport and permits, and timing such as a weekend shutdown. Try our Heavy Lifting and Moving Calculator for a rough range.
On Region of Waterloo roads, an oversize load needs a Region of Waterloo oversize load permit. The minimum processing time is 10 business days, and a route survey comes first. Loads over 119,999 kg are superloads, which need an engineer’s route report and at least 20 business days. Highway 401 and the Conestoga Parkway also need an MTO permit, requested at least 5 business days ahead.
We do not rent cranes or offer crane hire on its own. Most rigging inside Kitchener plants is done with skates, hydraulic gantries and jack-and-roll, which fit under low ceilings. When a lift does need a crane, a licensed crane partner performs it as part of our rigging plan and the crane time is in your quote. For crane rental only, contact a crane company.
Heavy rigging is the planned handling of loads that are too big or too heavy for ordinary forklifts and hoists, such as large presses, transformers, machining centres and line sections. It relies on rated rigging gear, gantries, jack-and-roll systems and, where needed, partner cranes, with each step planned around the load’s centre of gravity. Our Kitchener riggers do heavy rigging inside plants and at loading docks.
Rigging is everything that makes a lift safe before it starts: picking lifting points, choosing slings, shackles and hardware rated for the load, and attaching them so the machine hangs level. Lifting is the move itself, by gantry, jack-and-roll, lift truck or crane. Good riggers plan both together, which is why our crew rigs and lifts the machine as one job.
No. We do not sell slings, chains or rigging hardware, and we do not rent out rigging gear, forklifts or cranes. We are an industrial rigging company: our crew lifts, moves and sets machinery for plants in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the surrounding area. If you need hardware, a rigging supply store is the right call; if you need a machine moved, send us the details.
Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, including Breslau, Elmira, St. Jacobs, Baden, New Hamburg and Ayr, plus nearby cities such as Guelph, Stratford, Woodstock and Brantford. Jobs elsewhere in southern Ontario are welcome too; for the GTA, see our industrial rigging services in Toronto. Send the site address with your quote request and we will confirm the crew, route and any Region of Waterloo permit.
