Rigging-Busters London is an industrial moving company in London, Ontario, for plants in the city, across Middlesex County, in St. Thomas and Woodstock and throughout southwestern Ontario. We are a machinery moving and rigging company that provides professional riggers and lifters: our machinery movers and riggers take CNC machines, presses, printing lines and whole production lines out of one building and into the next. Rigging-Busters brings experienced rigging and machinery moving teams together under one standard of quality, which in London means a lift plan, a route and a landing point for every machine before the crew arrives.
- Industrial work only: we move plant machinery, production lines and the equipment around them, not household goods or office furniture.
- One crew, start to finish: lifting, trucking, setting in place, levelling and millwright installation are handled by the same team.
- 3,500 CAD minimum job. Larger plant moves cost more, and a written quote gives you the full price before we start.
- Quote time: usually within 2–4 working hours once we have all the details. Estimates are free.
- Coverage: London and its industrial areas, Middlesex County, St. Thomas, Woodstock, Ingersoll, Strathroy-Caradoc, Stratford and Windsor.

London Industries We Move Equipment For: Fabricated Metal, Machinery, Food and Printing
The City of London’s manufacturing sector profile counts 434 manufacturing establishments and 20,003 employees in 2023, or 9.2% of London’s workforce (City of London). By share of establishments the largest sub-sectors are fabricated metal products (14.3%), food manufacturing (12.4%), miscellaneous manufacturing (12.4%), machinery manufacturing (9.4%) and printing and related support activities (8.5%), together 57% of the total.
That mix decides what we expect to move in London: lathes, presses and machining centres for metal and machinery plants, filling, packaging and processing lines for food plants, and press units for printers. The pages in the list above cover each of these. The City’s industrial land points the same way: its industrial land sale page lists Innovation Park (north of Highway 401), Huron, Trafalgar and Skyway Industrial Parks, with Skyway adjacent to the London Airport, and names advanced manufacturing, food processing, automotive manufacturing, and defence and aerospace among its target sectors (City of London).
A new plant or an expansion means new lines brought in and set up. A plant that closes or consolidates sends equipment out instead: your trades disconnect each machine, and we rig it out and load it for its next owner, another site or storage. Either way the job starts with a lift plan and a route.
Areas We Cover from London
In London we work across Innovation Park, the Huron, Trafalgar and Skyway industrial parks and the rest of the city’s industrial areas, and across Middlesex County, from Middlesex Centre and Thames Centre to Strathroy-Caradoc. South we take jobs in St. Thomas and Elgin County, Aylmer and Tillsonburg; east in Ingersoll and Woodstock; north in Stratford and St. Marys; and west in Windsor. Nearby hubs: Windsor, Kitchener and Hamilton.
Oversize Loads on London, Middlesex County and Provincial Roads
Inside London, heavy loads move under the City’s Heavy Loads on Roads By-law (S-2). A load over the Highway Traffic Act limits needs a permit issued by the City Engineer, and when it is wider than 12 ft, taller than 13 ft 6 in or longer than 82 ft, the applicant must notify the railway companies and the Fire and Police departments at least 72 hours before every move and arrange a police escort if one is required (City of London By-law S-2).
County roads are a separate permit. The Middlesex County Engineer’s Office issues it, and the County’s guide says overweight permits are not issued in March and April or at other times when road bases may be soft, and that loads wider than 3.75 m or over 70,000 kg gross vehicle weight move Monday to Thursday only, starting after 9 a.m. and finishing by 4 p.m. (Middlesex County guide). On the 401 and 402 the permit is the MTO oversize/overweight permit. It is valid on King’s highways only, and carriers are asked to apply at least 5 business days ahead for a single trip. Permit applications and escort bookings are ours to handle when a load calls for them; the earlier you give us the move date, the less the lead times matter.
Have These Ready for an Exact London Quote
To price your London move exactly, include the following in your quote request:
- Scope in one line: a single machine, a group of machines or a complete plant move
- Machine details: make, model, weight and footprint; the nameplate photo usually answers our first questions
- Where it starts and ends: both addresses, the dock or ground-level door, door width, ceiling height and floor type
- Timing: the shutdown window, the move-out deadline or the day the new space is ready
- Responsibilities on your side: electricians for disconnects, the OEM for start-up, and whoever signs the machine back into production
- Photos of the machines and the way out of the building
Then expect a quote usually within 2–4 working hours once we have all the details. For a rough range today, use the Heavy Lifting & Moving Calculator.
London Industrial Moving: FAQ
Ask what the machine needs to do. A press, a CNC machine or a whole line going to another building belongs with our machinery movers in London. Lifts, skating and setting within your plant belong with the rigging company in London. Printing presses, lab equipment, forklifts and transformers have their own pages in the list above.
That depends on the road. On City of London streets, a load over the Highway Traffic Act limits needs a permit from the City Engineer under By-law S-2. County roads are permitted through the Middlesex County Engineer’s Office, and King’s highways such as the 401 and 402 through the Ministry of Transportation, which asks for at least 5 business days for a single trip. We map the route and file what it needs.
Yes, on County roads. Middlesex County issues no overweight permits in March and April or at other times when road bases may be soft, and loads wider than 3.75 m or over 70,000 kg gross weight move Monday to Thursday only, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. In the City, a load wider than 12 ft, taller than 13 ft 6 in or longer than 82 ft needs 72 hours’ notice to the railways, Fire and Police. Plan spring jobs early.
All of London, its industrial parks included, and Middlesex County from Middlesex Centre and Thames Centre to Strathroy-Caradoc. We also work in St. Thomas and Elgin County, Woodstock and Ingersoll, Stratford and Windsor, and a London machine can be taken to any site in southern Ontario or delivered across the US border.
Yes, 3,500 CAD. We bring a lift plan, rigging gear and a full crew even to a short move within one building, which is why most London plant jobs are above that figure. A single light machine or an office clear-out is better served by a general mover. Every quote is written and shows the total price before the work begins.
Usually within 2–4 working hours once we have all the details: what is being moved, photos, both addresses and your dates. Bigger jobs, such as a production line or a plant relocation, can need a free site visit before the final price. Estimates cost nothing, and the Heavy Lifting and Moving Calculator can give you a rough range while you wait.
No. Industrial machinery and plant equipment is all we move, so a house, apartment, gym or office move in London needs a residential or commercial mover. We do not rent cranes or forklifts to customers. When a lift needs a crane, we bring ours or a partner crane with its own operator, and it is priced inside the job.
